Community Support

Ruff Start STX is committed to supporting both pets and the people who care for them throughout St. Croix. While our primary mission is rescue and rehabilitation, we also work to assist community members whenever our resources allow. This may include helping pet owners facing temporary hardships, providing guidance and resources, assisting with medical needs when possible, or responding to reports of stray or at-risk dogs.

It's important to note that Ruff Start STX is not Animal Control and does not have a government contract or the authority to respond to every call involving stray, abandoned, or dangerous animals. As a volunteer-driven nonprofit, our ability to help depends on available foster homes, funding, volunteers, and space.

If you need assistance with your own pet or would like to report a dog you believe needs our help, you can submit a request through the form below. Every request is reviewed by our team, and while we cannot guarantee that we can respond to or accept every case, we do our best to provide guidance, resources, or direct assistance whenever possible.
